NIGHT NAVIGATION


Join us for a 4-hour night navigation exercise designed to build your confidence and skills in navigating the outdoors after dark. Whether you're preparing for mountain leadership, outdoor challenges, or simply want to explore with confidence, this session is for you! We’ll also visit a nearby public house after the event.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Using a map and compass effectively in low-light conditions.

  • Practical pacing and timing techniques.

  • Identifying and interpreting terrain features at night.

  • Strategies for staying safe and oriented in challenging environments.

What to Bring:

  • Headtorch (with spare batteries).

  • Compass, we will supply a laminated map.

  • Warm, layered clothing and waterproofs.

  • Sturdy walking boots.

  • Snacks and a hot drink in a flask.

Led by a qualified mountain leader, this hands-on session will boost your navigation confidence and teach essential techniques for night-time adventures.
