Time & Date - 09.00hrs Sunday 5th January 2025, & Sunday 9th March 2025. Finish will be approx 15.00hrs.
The day is aimed at beginners, but it can also be used as a refresher for more experienced navigators. The day will be tailored to suit all levels of experience and ensure all participants get the maximum learning possible.
Topics covered include plotting a route, setting the map, map scales, grid references, contours, pacing, timing, half bearings, map symbols, and walking on a bearing.
We will spend approximately 6 hours walking around an excellent orienteering course, covering all the above subjects. The morning will be very relaxed with our friendly and experienced instructor.

Equipment - Please dress for a walk on the hills, the terrain can be uneven, on muddy paths and the UK weather can be unpredictable even at low levels. Maps will be supplied, we have a supply of compasses, but if you have your own compass then please bring it.
Cost - £50 per person, with a Tree for Life planted for each paying person.
